since the cracking of the encryption keys has their been any word of homebrew mods for the wii.... is it worth chipping my wii at this point or should i be expecting flash hacks for my wii

The rumours about Wii homebrew is still in very early stages.

With the recent developments in which they managed to execute code with all hardware access is still in very primitive stages, and Wii homebrew will not really take off for quite a while. With more advanced things such as flash hacks, that in itself would almost certainly require some form of modchip to modify the bios.

At some point there may be flash hacks, but I wouldn't expect it for quite a while.
