Hello, I have obtained a large .Mkv file lil over 8gb, i try playing this in VLC player and it stutters like hell?! what can i do to watch it?

Download/install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. VLC has its own library of codecs, but probably not sufficient to play some media files flawlessly most especially MKV.
