Both the converting and burning processes work fine for me with convertxtodvd. However, after burning the dvd doesn't play on any dvd player and the disc is recognized as blank when opening the folder in my computer. is the problem the program or my computer? I've been using this program for a long time and just recently has it been acting up. I'm currently using version 2.2.3.258 of convertxtodvd and I use memorex dvd+rw to burn. Thanks for the help!

To test, turn off the burning feature of ConVertX and just save the output to a DVD folder.
Burn the DVD with 'ImgBurn'.

http://www.imgburn.com/

Run ImgBurn
Click 'Mode' > 'Build'
Click 'Output' > 'Device'
Click 'File' > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK'

I converted the VIDEO_TS files into an ISO and tried burning it with ImgBurn. When it was verifying the dvd this error message popped up:

is it convertx? I recently downloaded that version because I figured the old version might have been the problem.

I'll try converting the avi files again and not converting the file into and ISO and see what happens.

I think the problem is in the burner or the media.
In ImgBurn:
'Tools' - 'Drive' - 'Check for firmware updates', to see if there is new firmware.
Also, I don't know if you always use RW disks, but you might consider trying a Verbatim+R or -R, if the drive permits.

you have 2 very good peaces of advice from attar, to add to that make that dvd+rw BOOKTYPED to dvd-rom for better compatibility on most player (more like original) if your drive allows it

output as file/folder (VIDEO_TS) load to imgburn like attar say then use imgburn to booktype

dvd+rw can be harder to get to play
+
memorex can be harder to get to play (not a great make/brand)

verbatim or TY or Ritek i use...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Im having trouble with this as well. My computer recognises the burned disk, however my dvd player doesnt recognize it. It playes on my computer as well. It is a dvd+r Dual Layer disk. I looked at my dvd player and it reads dual layer disks.

@Vlint

Did you booktype that to DVD-ROM? I think almost all burners ar capable of booktyping DVD+R DL.

Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

what does booktyped mean? also how do it do it on imgburn?

i also added the firmware that was suggested (dvd region + css) but it did't seem to do much for me because the dvd still was unsuccessful when imgburn was verifying the disc. so i'm guessing its the disc that is the problem?

i didn't know that memorex was actually a bad brand because i've been using it for the past 2 years now and it has always worked fine for me. just recently has the disc not worked.. i guess i'll try the verbatim dvd-r.

booktyping is when you change a +R dvdr to dvd-rom (more like original dvd = better compatibilty in most dvd players)

firmware is what you update/install to the actual dvdRW drive for better reading of more dvdrs/brands

memorex/verbatim are brand names and dont mean that much, what counts is the dye info used to make the discs, to find out the dye code for a dvdr place in drive and use dvd infopro or dvd identifier or imgburn to tell you/us, your brand of dvdr could be called BOB MARLEY it means nothing, the dye info tells all...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

First off, your media is mediocre quality. Secondly, you really need to update your burner firmware as first suggested by attar.
