Hi every1, can any1 help? I can downgrade to 1.5 and then back up to 3.52m33 fine but when i try update to 3.52m33-3 or -4 it says update successful then when it reboots back to the xmb it freezes. i can see the xmb but cannot use it I have used numerous guides and tried installers and done this manually but whenever i do this my psp freezes. Any1 seen this before or know the cure? Cheers.

Downgrade your PSP to 1.50 ^_^ (I hope you recovery mode wokrs fine)
While on 1.50 run the kxploitpatcher once again :P
I know it's permanent, but still :P
And then update it to 3.52m33 and then "DO NOT install the 3.52m33-3 or 3.52m33-4 update" >_>

Directly Update your PSP to 3.71m33 and then install the 3.71m33-4 update ^_^
Juz see if that helps ^_^

Official 3.71 firmware - HERE
3.71m33 firmware - HERE
3.71m33-4 update - HERE

Also, if your play 1.50 homebrew games, you can install the 1.50 kernel add-on ^_^
1.50 kernel add-on - HERE
I think you already have the official 1.50 firmware update ^_^

Enter recovery mode and make sure your kernel is set to 3.52.

Might work

PsP#1 : 2.01>3.71M33-4>3.80 M33-5
PsP#2 (Slim) : 3.80>3.90M33-2 All hail the UPMS Stck
If you need a UPMS Stick go here and then go here :-) *As recommended by January39

Only things i can think of are to Reset flash1 and/or use a different program to install 3.71 / 3.80 (DvC3 or 4). if you already have CFW i would suggest creating a UPMS stick which will do all and more.

If you are happy the program is working fine than all i can suggest it re-flash 3.52 on then try again to install 3.71.

I have used a PSP-1000 before and had no trouble updating to 3.71 & 3.80 with it.

Your PSP build should not matter man >_>

Well, Irshell happens the same to me too >_<

btw, you can directly upgrade from 3.52m33 to 3.71m33-4
Quote:
First method for both psp, the prefered when possible:

Requeriments: a fat psp slim with 3.52 M33 or 3.52 M33-4. Previous versions of M33 won't work,
due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.

- Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater
there but with name "371.PBP". Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that.

- If you are in the fat psp, make sure you have configured the psp to run the game folder in the 3.XX kernel.

- Execute the program, it requires 78% of battery. If you have idstorage corrupted due to a downgrader, the program
will ask you to correct it automatically so the update can continue.

- Press X, and the Sony updater will begin. Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.71 M33 :)

- When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step
shutting down the psp by yourself, or you'll end with a brick.

- You should be now in 3.71 M33

This is what is given in my "readme.txt" ^_^
I've highlighted the important text ^_^

EDIT : Oh sowwie :P
I edited that to make my friend a fool :P
Actually, I downloaded the file again and found that it was 3.52m33-3 :P

neways, see THIS video ^_^
The file used in the video is HERE

Well, then I can't get to know what your PSP problem is man >_<
Try finding the flash0 files for 3.52m33-4 and replace them to your PSP "flash0" :)
Well, if you don't find then wait ^_^
I had a backup of 3.52m33-4 :)
I'll juz upload it IF YOU DIDN'T FIND THE 3.52m33-4 files >_<
