I'm considering installing a Cyclowiz on my Wii to play an original copy of Smash Bros. Brawl, but I'm having a very difficult time finding anywhere selling a Cyclowiz V2. I have, however, found a few sites selling the V1. I have a console from the first run of Wii's (purchased on launch day in US), so I'm fairly certain I've got the oldest drive.
Will I be able to play an import version of Smash Bros. simply by installing a Cyclowiz V1? Or will there be additional steps involved?
Thanks for any help...if you can't tell, I'm quite new to all of this.
There is actually very little info on this. Nintendo have currently put new security on this game (and Super Mario Galaxy) which means new upgrades have to be made by the chip makers in order to get the game to work. They probably made V2 for a reason, and if you are only going to use it to play a backup of SBB I would seriously consider a V2, even if that means waiting a while. You will also need to research on where to download the appropriate update and how to install it.

Does anyone know if the Cyclowiz is even still being produced? I've spent hours searching and have found absolutely nowhere that still sells them.
They are definitely still being produced, it is just that they are making a new batch now. The delay is because their attention is focused on providing D2C support.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. There is no definite date, but it shouldn't be more than one or two months.
