I have been making backups with Aone DVD+R DL just to see if i was successful with the backup process and my hardware before i splash out on verbatims.

Well the Aone discs work ok but they are VERY, VERY tempermental when getting the disc to load in the Xbox 360. Most of the time it just says unrecognised disc, but when using the exact same disc i can restart the xbox and then it will work?

...i don't want to have to keep restarting the xbox360 etc. everytime i want to play a backup. (sometimes it can take as many as 5 attempts to get the game to load)

I have considered buying some verbatims to see if this solves my problem. I have 2 questions:

1. Does this definately sound like a media-related problem?

2. If i do a direct copy/backup from the 'Aone' disc onto a 'Verbatim' disc using this guide :

...will this be a wasted process? (I have deleted the backup images from my PC HardDrive and I don't want to have to go through the whole process again)

Even if your laser in the 360 will not read that disc well backing it up to beter media will work. IF the information on the disc is burned correctly and complete.

You may want to try updating the firmware on your burner if you have not already. It may help you with compatibility and getting a better burn on the discs. But buying some Verbatim is a great idea as well.
