Hi guys,
I recently bought the game SOCOM US Navy Seals Combined assault for my PS2.
However, when i try to start the game, i get this error: http://img255.imageshack.us/my.php?image=c...lererrorhf2.jpg
(cannot find the controller)
My controller IS connected. Also, it works w/ other games.
How can I fix this?
Thanks a lot!

i guess you could try getting a new controller. they are only like $10 for a new one, or you can borrow one from a friend. if that doesnt work then you can try getting a new game. i know it seems crappy but its got to be one of the two. if it were the console the controller wouldnt work on any game.

I had a spare Controller, which I've tried on it already (again, work w/ other games, but not this one.)
As for the game, I tried using a emulator on my computer (PCSX2) to try running it, and it got farther than the PS2 (went into gameplay, although it was really slow) but, it got past the error msg on my ps2.... does that count as 'the game works'?
Any other suggestions? Thanks for the reply too!

i mean there are faulty emulators so i wouldnt trust the emulator. even some of my super nintendo games run slow on my psp, mainly because of the emulator. i would try the game on a different ps2 and if it works its your system, but if it doesnt its the game.

wait...."DualShock2 analogue controller" means the PS2 ones right? Not the PS1 kind?

right, you need a dualshock 2 to play most ps2 games. i think the really early games are the exception.

whoops...
on my controllers, it just says "playstation"
Im assuming that it's DUALSHOCK analong... not dualshock2...
maybe that's why the game doesn't work on PS2, but does on emulator?

perhaps man, i mean i can use my ps2 controller for playing my super nintendo emulator and my MAME emulator on my laptop. so perhaps the ps2 emulator isnt picky either.

so can we conclude it's probably an incompatible controller, and not a faulty game?
thxs.

i finally got my hands on a new dualshock2 controller.. and the game starts up right away.
So, it's the controller! Guess the game's really picky.
Thanks.
