My psp isn't playing a Ps1 game

My firmwire is 3.40 oe-a and i have recently put a copy of Carmageddon onto it. The image and background for it comes up but when I try to play it it reads "the game could not be started the data is corrupted."

An anyone help me?

I think you may need to update your firmware to the highest version (3.80 I think) and then try again.

If this doesn't work, I would suggest looking for a new copy of the backup.

the highest custom firmware at the moment is 3.90m33 try upgrading to that :)

Whoops my bad need to keep up with the times.

Either way, I know 3.8 works with PS1 games.

i dunno, wen i play psx games i used 3.71 m33-4 i works 100% and i still have doubts abt 3.80 m33 or 3.90 m33 (but then again i havent seen a thread with "3.90 m33 help with psx games")

Haha sorry I seem to be getting confused with .71 and .80

Also the 3.90 firmware should have better support in theory...there is no sense in releasing a newer firmware, in which its features are dulled down.
