I think I may have met my match today-
I met with a gentleman earlier today who had two white Darth Vader slims both running 3.90(OFW) that he wanted custom firmware installed on. The one he purchased new worked fine, I was able to use my UPMS to install 3.80M33-5, and then we used the Network Update icon on the psp to update it to 3.90M33 (Nice feature, BTW)-
The other one he got from eBay, I was not successful in 'enhancing' that one...I had my memory stick inserted-then when I put in the battery, the green light came on for about two seconds, then just shut off completely...Very odd indeed!

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue at all when updating slim psp's? I know there was an article on qj about the pandora-proof motherboard (TA085v2)-but I thought that was just for trying to create a pandora battery on it...Not using one.

I figured either that or its something hardware related thats not right with his other psp-Because the psp works fine otherwise, no lag or errors while in the XMB...Just wont accept the pandora battery..He said he was already in contact with his seller because the listing apparently stated the psp was in mint condition-It was pretty banged up when he brought it over today, and he has only had it since Saturday..I told him to get a refund.

But just wanted to know if anyone else has had that issue with the slim psp's...

Thanks

Very odd indeed. wonder if it's missing some keys. Should have run key cleaner V1.2 not V1.3.

the same thing happened to me, last night. but i was recreating my u.p.m.s to the sapphire version. after i turned off my psp slim, it fully bricked. when i put in my pandora's battery, the light stayed on for two seconds then shut off by itself.

but then i remembered that i had to hold the l-trigger to boot the menu. low and behold, the u.p.m.s ipl showed up on screen. and now my slim is back up and running 3.90 m33.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10

It was strange because I also tried my other memory stick that has just the DCv4 on it..I got the same result-
I didnt think of using keycleaner as the psp I was trying to update has official firmware on it..
