Here's basically where I'm at. I want to get a PSP, but I want to put on CFW to run my PS1 games on it. I've paged through several guides, but a lot of them talk about downgrading firmware, pandora's battery, etc. and I'm a little lost.
If I went to the store today, bought myself a PSP, and wanted to put a custom firmware on to allow me to play my PS1 games, what's a good guide to follow? I can figure it out for myself if I get a good tutorial/starting point. Thanks for the help.
If you were to buy a psp today from the store, you are correct you would need a pandora battery/memory stick to get your psp up and running custom firmware...
So, I need to buy a Memory Stick Duo, and the Datel battery. Then I follow the guide and I should have the CFW loaded. After that, I should be able to follow a PS1 ripping guide and be able to do the things I want? Thanks again for the help.
That is correct-Unless you know somebody that has a psp already running custom firmware, you could have them setup a battery and memory stick for you to get you going...

Yeah, those Datel units run about $40
Also best to stay away from eBay for batteries or memory sticks for that matter...

He probably has the pandora setup already if he does modding etc=He may charge a few bucks to do it, but well worth it I'm sure...Easier than doing it yourself, and dropping $$ on a battery, etc...
Then that's probably what I would do. I wouldn't mind paying him to do it, he's experienced and I won't have to get the battery then. Thanks once again for the help.
