Hi all, after loads of fun playing with my wii i decided i would try to find out what else i could do with the wiimote after reading abit i found that i can use it along with my wii guitar and have a go on frets on fire and maybe some others, so without further ado i downloaded the apps and tried and tried and tried lol, ok so i downloaded blue soleil, glove pie Widapp and a few scripts , my wii mote seems to sync ok with blue soleil and if i start widapp it will display the corresponding buttons that i press perfectly ok, the problem is that glovepie doesnt do anything at all, i sort of know the wiimote is connected because of blue soleil and widapp but after that im scratching my head, im assuming the problem is glovepie can anyone shed any light on this please ? also if this can be resolved can i use the wiiguitar with the pc version of guitar hero ???

The Wiimote isn't designed for the PC. Any connection that you do manage is very lucky.
I don't think there is any way to reliably make your Wiimote work with the computer, so you may just have to wait a little bit for program updates to arrive and then have another go.
And I don't think that you can use the Wiimote version guitar on the PC one.

5couse, I am not familiar with the wii guitar at all, but I recently learned how to make my Wiimote work as a mouse for the computer (this may or may not answer your total question). Contrary to what you will find from the people here, it is possible and in fact not difficult to use your Wiimote on your computer. First of all, forget about golvepie. Go here and check out the "downloads" section. Right at the top you will find the "WiiRemote" program that you can download. All you need to do is establish a bluetooth connection between your computer and your Wiimote (hold the 1 & 2 buttons on the Wiimote while you scan for bluetooth devices with Bluesoleil or whatever program you use) then open up the "WiiRemote" program and it should be sensing your Wiimote's movements and buttons. As for playing the pc version of guitar hero... you'll probably have a hell of a time figuring out how to map keys and what-not, but at least this is a start. I hope I could help.

That relies on you having a bluetooth connection in the first place.
It may work on your computer, but do bear in mind that the Wiimote hardware was by no means designed for the computer.
Also I don't see how this could work because for the Wii you need a sensor bar to detect motion sensing, so where on your computer is the sensor bar?

Did you read my post at all ? you do not need the ir bar as you are not using it, the buttons do not require infrared neither does the accelerometer the only connection required is bluetooth please if you are going to post at least read a little before posting oxadillia a good place to start could be the wiimote wiki ( no offence meant m8 )
Thanks adambar, i can use the wiimote thumpad to control the cursor in glovepie just nothing else so im surmising its either a problem with the actual bluetooth dongle i have( which i cannot understand as i tried wiidapp as i said and all buttons when pressed light up on screen so i sort of know that the bt device is pretty much ok)or its a problem with glovepie and the corresponding scripts which is what i am thinking, time has been a bit short this last week for me so i havent really been able to test anything. I will continue on today lol. thank you both for your input.

No offense taken.
The only thing I am trying to suggest is that these are not compatible. If I really wanted to do this then I would wait a little for something a bit more reliable. (and I'm pretty sure it isn't reliable otherwise this post wouldn't exist)
And if you are worried about the software, you should go see if there is an update or something, or try and find out if anyone else on the internet is having the same problem and how they fixed it.
Otherwise just look for an alternative software.

Ok... Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner, I lost this thread. Oxadillia, when you say "Wiimote hardware was by no means designed for the computer" you are essentially right, but that doesn't mean that it is impossible or even difficult to use on a computer as a mouse or a gamepad because the Wiimote uses bluetooth and blutooth is a universal way to transmit wireless data. If you don't believe me, follow my instructions and download that little application and hook your Wiimote up to your computer. The application gives you a visual representation of the Wiimote's reaction to tilt, turn and yaw.
Anyway, 5couse, I messed with glovepie for a while too and got nowhere. It is in its infancy and I believe for some users has the capability to make the Wiimote interact with a computer, but I found the application at wiibuilder.com makes everything so much easier. I'm telling you, at least give it a try and follow my instructions from the following post to determine whether it will be able to help you at all. The program maps all of your movements and if you do not wish to use a IR bar, you can use the Wiimotes movements to control your mouse or whatever else you're using and map the keys on the Wiimote (as well as the nunchuck). Anyway, I wish you the best of luck on figuring it out.

Hi Adambar downloaded winremote and connected via bluetooth and everything works ok, all buttons highlight and movement is picked up for the accelerometer and the rest of the magical stuff inside the wiimote, so i guess its just glovepie that doesnt want to work properly, looks like ive got some tinkering to do :), ill let you know how i get on.

I still don't get it...but I guess it must be right...(though I'm not sure how)
Oh well. All the luck with getting it to work!
