I was wondering what the speed of a movie DVD when played in a DVD-ROM and the amount of throughput there is. I am planning to buy an external burner to bring to work but my computer only uses USB 1.1. Wondering if I could playback movies fine?

I suppose USB 1.1 Might be fast enough But You Might get Some Choppy playback in some areas on a Movie with a Lot of Action ..To Be safe I would get a USB 2.0 PCI card and use that as your Input, I have seen them on e-bay for under $10 and USB 2.0 is 40X as Fast as USB 1.1...Good Luck
