wii remote is SCREWED UP!!

my wii remotes are messed up i tried both they become inverted and wont twist they just get stuck in one spot i can move the pointer but it is inverted and wont pick up twisting motions. what is going on here? please help!

The same happened with mine and Resident Evil. I fixed it by removing the batteries and using fully charged ones, and then disconnecting and re-syncing my Wiimote.
