I along with apparently quite a bit of peers on here, have not been able to update my WiiKey to 1.9G because of the "Connection Error".

I think a lot of questions about this come up and then get pushed aside because of various elements.

There have been people with Official WiiKey's and People with Clones who have had this issue.
There have been people however with Clones who have had no problems updating (thus true if the chip is actually a CLONE)

The method of removing the DVD before updating and then again, doesen't appear to actually update the chip at all.

No one has ever opened their wii up and found they were just missing one wire, DESPITE that being the "connection error"

... some people have managed to get through this problem through a variety of other unusal methods.

There is a large discussion about it here-
http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=86985

Has ANYONE made it through this, or is it basically only fixable by purchasing a new Mod Chip that will function properly?

Its frustrating how it seems nearly impossible to get any input back from the WiiKey itself, there is no way to check its firmware, no way to be sure its settings are actualy making a difference, etc.

Question though... if I didn't have the 1.9B firmware (since my mod is almost a year old) is there any Game Cube games I can test that shouldn't function right?

This is at least a way to know what version the WiiKey is at, to see if there is any promise of changing it.

I have run the DVD to reset it to 1.9B, however there is no real signs of that working or not. The 1.9G and 1.9B update connection fail. I can run the CONFIG disk 1.3 however I couldn't tell you whether or not it actually works, because the settings don't save.

I'm kind of frustrated, because this chip is disabiling me from even playing a Legit copy of SSBB when it comes out here, since I have the issue with the Import DVD-R.

Any help or others experiencing this would be appreciated.
