when you put a charged battery in the psp, when you slide the power button the green light comes on for like an instant, less than 1/10th of a second, and it goes off, and nothing happens. i am thinking maybe it is a fuse somewhere? any idea how i can fix this?

no way, it is not bricked. i have a pandora battery and ms and i have fixed many bricked psp's before. when i tried to unbrick, when i put the battery in the psp, the green power light flashes. now as you know then green light should stay on, but it doesnt, it comes on, off, on, off. its like the psp is losing power somewhere, it cant get a steady power.

yes i have unbricked many psp's before, and i have tried many batteries, many ac adapters, many power outlets.
maybe i didnt describe the rpboelm well
when you slide the power button, AS YOU SLIDE IT, the power light comes on and goes off again. this happens AS you slide the power button, so i ma thinking the psp has trouble getting continous power, meaning as poweer comes in, it loses it. maybe a capacitor or a fuse?

Well, yeah I think the PSP has some problem receiving the power >_>
Because "if it is a brick", then when you fully slide the "power slide" of your PSP, then the "Green light" will come and stay for some 10-30 secs and then go off ^_^
Have you tried starting your PSP with the AC adapter without the battery inserted ??? o_O
If not, then try and see what happens >_>
Well, if a capacitor was faulty, then it will start stinking (burn smell) with some smoke coming out >_<
EDIT : Well, try inserting the "pandora battery along with the magic memory stick" and see what happens >_< (Juz in case, I'm curious to know what happens)

Dear Acidy, i tried pandora, and here is what happens
the green light for the power goes on off on off on off
so i think the psp has some problem keeping power, as soon as it receives power it loses it.
the memory card light and wifi light never turn on

then there is a problem with the battery not the psp

my diagnosis is that the motherboard is physically damaged beyond repair. pandora wont work on it. i've encountered the same problem before on a psp, i have swapped out the power supply with the switch and that didn't fix it. i've also tried a confirmed working pandora and using other batteries with no luck. there are tiny little fuses on the motherboard that can be bad. but they are really small and virtually impossible to replace. you can "jump" them, but that can end in complete sadness for you, see this acticle.

i would recomend swaping out the mobo, you can get em from ebay. or just sell it on ebay.

I had this problem on one of my psp's and how I fixed it was to strip the psp down taking all but the umd drive out and put it back together making sure everything was connected properly and then tried it and it is now as good as new.

you could try changing the power on/off switch which is attached to the cross, square, triangle and circle. all you need to to is replace that chip and it might work. but if not then the problem will be on the mother board or another part of the psp.
have you tryed turning it on with the ac adapted plugged in if it turns on then its ur battery that the problem and replace it but if it still does the same thing you can try replacing the switch.
THIS IS NOT A BRICK BECAUSE A BRICK WILL HAVE A FLASHING GREEN LIGHT FOR LONGER THAN 1/10TH OF A SECOND

DON'T GIVE UP
My PSP did the same thing and I nearly dumped it on ebay for nearly nothing. I was trying to "unbrick" it because about once in 10 times it would turn on. I found out that if I was twisting the console a bit, sometimes it turned on.
I finally found out IT WAS THE USB CONNECTION that was shorting something on the board. When I put a USB cable into it and put a little pressure on it, the PSP turned on. Later, I found that if I was transfering something to the PSP via the USB, if I tweaked it wrong, it would shut down, but come right back up if I tweaked the connector the other way.
Try it out.
