I want to buy an US ps3 and Rock band and my HD TV is 37 inch 1080p tv and it is ntsc compatibel so does that mean i can use an american game console ?

Yes it will play.

HDTVs dont really have NTSC or PAL,they are very simillar to PC monitors.

Im not sure on the 60 hertz thing,but if you have a HDTV it will display,PAL,NTSC and SEECAM,its not locked to any region.

Something you do have to know about getting an American PS3 and living in the UK is that your PAL DVDs,PAL PS2/PS1 Games and PAL Blu-Ray wont play on it,but youll be able to play PS3 games from every region on it.

No that is not true,PS3 is NOT region free many people believe that it is but only the PS3 games are region free.
