I have been using dvdshrink for sometime and find it to be one of the best programs around. however with certain newer dvds sometimes it will have problems analyzing the actually video. it will get by the menues just fine, but once it starts the actually video it freezes and an error message comes up that says "cyclic redundancy". I found out it may have something to do with the copy protection on dvds so i have been using AnyDVD to bypass those, however i do not have the money to purchases a full version. my question is, is there anyway to fix DVDshrink so it does not have this problem anymore, if not is there another program like AnyDVD that is free and wont expire in 21 days? thank you all for viewing, and responding in advanced.

i think its more like "seek and ye shall find". im pretty sure everyone gets the point though. the search button solves most of my problems and if not then i can always pray. i do both sometimes.@ jesus, u can always use dvdfabdecrypter to rip then run through shrink to compress to dvd5. there maybe a few titles u have to run through fixvts before hand.u can find fixvts in the download section of ad and dvdfabdecrypter here .. http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm . also "cyclic redundancy" can be a dirty or damaged disc.

Cyclic Redundancy is a very simple error. It means the system was unable to read for some reason and timed out. Anything that can seriously slow down the read process can cause the error; from hardware, to media, to software. Usually finding the cause is a process of elimination and making sure the user has kept everything up to date, including firmware updates for the drive(s), using good discs, and using the latest versions of good decryption software. Scratched and beat up media, and dirty optical heads top the list of culprits; but I've seen a few drives on their way out cause the same error.

jesus4550,
You can't reuse the program once the trial period had lapsed.

Agree with Pryme...if you like it, buy it. Anything else if piracy and therefore not discussed here at aD.
