Ok so hi all to start with, thanks for reading.
So i have a wii, from Japan to be exact. So everything no in English.
The console is modded (with what I don?t know?) and came with a burned wii sports game, so all is well.
then I acquired a few other games which seemed to work, until I put in donkey kong jet racers, where the system was trying to do some sort of update, but this was to no avail as it froze half way, and I had to turn the system off. Apon restarting the game was not recognised and now half my games don?t work.
Thinking I should do an online update I went into wii settings menu to set up the internet, but instead of going to the settings menu the wii seem goes to an ?opeara page not found? page. This is very weird as the settings menu was ok before.
So I guess I need help, maybe firmware updating the wii possibly to English if can be done, or maybe updating the wii chip, if I can get help to find out what it maybe. Any help would be brill.

any more information needed just ask
in UK wii model RVL-001(jpn)

You bricked your Wii.

The update from that game is not compatible with your Wii and it's locked out your settings. The only way to fix it is to use a newer update from a game from your region - in your case Japan. Maybe SSBB might do it but I can't say for sure. Basically if you don't know what modchip is in then it may be that no-one can help you. You need to identify the modchip first. Ask the seller if possible or you will have to get a professional to open it up and tell you.

You shouldn't update your Wii from any game unless you are 100% sure you know what you are doing. Best way is always over the net which you can't do cos you blocked your settings.

If the Jap version of SSBB doesn't work you are stuck and you will have to wait until they bring a game out with a higher firmware that that.

Erm... I already told you this in my last post - You will have to wait until they bring out a Japanese game with a higher firmware than SSBB.

ok thanks.
so from what i can see, firmware updates are released on mainly Mario games, is there a possible release date for a new game, or for the firmware update? any rough timeline will do.
if not will i have to keep visiting and searching for the new update on the web, to find out when it will be released.

Dunno m8 - I don't work at Nintendo :)

One will come - just watch out for it and in the meantime try and pick up what info you can about the Wii and your modchip so you are better prepared in future.

3.2 hasn't been released on a game disk yet so will have to wait until that happens - maybe mario kart?

as you can see in this table, wiifit jap has the 3.1J update in it.

For you case, you have to wait Mario Kart Wii JAP (many new update comes with nintendo games...)
