Personally, if your putting this Linux on a PS3, there all about the same... The PS3 only has so much space to offer for an alternative OS, Sony didn't allow it the full works... So all Linux's are going to run at roughly the same level

YellowDog linux is the best for PS3 without a doubt because it was hand made and coded specifically for the PlayStation... However, it costs!

If I were you, I would wait till April until Ubuntu Hardy Heron stable release is brought available to the General Public :)
