My Wii Goes Lights Up By Itself

I just got my Wii today and I noticed a couple of hours after I stopped playing the blue light around where you put the disc keeps flashing. The wii is off, so is the remote. There isn't even a disc inside.

I don't need a night light. How can I stop this short of unplugging it?

Uh sometimes they are important like an update or something. You can turn WiiConnect24 off in the Wii Settings.

I have wiiconnect24 off and got the flashing too, turned out it was the toads in SMG sending me mail thanking me for rescuing luigi.
