when i hook up my psp(3.90 m33) to my computer running linux it says that there is only 238 mb free when there is over 2 gig free (4gig card) i was wondering if there is anyway to fix this

P.S. i am on ubuntu right now but it does the same thing with fedora

Are you sure the memory stick is not fake? When you put it into your PSP, go to the game menu, go to memory stick, whilst on memory stick press triangle and then go to information. Does it say "Magic Gate Supported" ?. If it says Magic Gate Status: Uknown or Unsupported, this means you have a fake memory stick.

It looks like you're not the only one having this issue. I'm using ubuntu and I have an 8gb sandisk MS in my psp.

When I connect the psp, ubuntu only sees 4gb and won't allow me to put any more files on the disk. I get an ioctl error.

But if I connect the psp to a windows XP box, it sees the disk as 8gb.

Very annoying indeed..... I've connected it to more than one ubuntu box, and they both see the disk as the same size.

I have no idea if it's a linux thing, or a psp/cfw issue.

I just did some more digging.

It looks like it does see it as an 8gb disk, but thinks it's always more full than it is.

There's 700MB free (both windows and the psp tell me this), but linux thinks its full. From mount:
