A colleague (Dublin) has a problem that i can not seem to find an answer to on the forums :)
The Box auto tuned 150+ channels but RTE1 & RTE2 do not show any picture although tuned, other terrestrial channels eg: BBC CH4 break up?
Previously to the Starv**w. his old N*L channels would often freeze.
The cable comes in through the roof and drops to the living area unbroken 10metre approx.
I think it may be a coaxial problem, Length and quality of joiners etc,?
Could it be a problem with The Box? small fix?
any suggestions are much appreciated...........
Cheers

Hi Folks..... ;)
The mate had a look at the cable and everything looks good.
He has pointed out that, although RTE1 & RTE2 will not appear on the screen, you do get the channel indicator appearing which shows the signal strength as good as any of the other stations.
Any ideas or comments are welcome.
Cheers

If the cable looks good but he had a problem with the subbed box well maybe its a CC cabling problem, although you do say the cable comes from the roof, is it MMDS, i.e does he have an aerial on the roof feeding the cable.

Hi Scouser ;)
he has cable installed. Not MMDS (no aerial)
When he sets up his old N*L receiver he receives all channels.
the cable runs along the facia of the houses and enters through the roof. there is a box in the attic and from there the cables feed each tv. would a booster box help in the attic?
Thanks for the help;)

Both channels are on the same TP, tell him to try a booster.

A cheap one from Maplins/Argos will do the job for that frequency, no need to go down the expensive route.

TP = Transponder, carries multiple channels on one stream. Although transport stream may be more applicable to cable transmission.

Just ta help put a close to this thread. the work colleague got a booster box but he still had a signal problem. he called N*L out and they ran a new cable to his N*L receiver from the attic. he switched boxes when they left the house and found to his delight that all was good.
Problem: Cable (sorted)

Cheers
