LG drives for Wii games

Does it matter what LG Dirve you get to convert Wii games or do you have to have a certain one to reconize Wii games? I have a double layer sony burner but it wont read the disc at all, then I read you had to have a LG Drive for Wii games. I Seen LG Drives at Bestbuy but i want to make sure I get the right one. I have a laptop so I would need to get an external one. Could someone help me with this?
