Or you can use the UPMS

This has the ability to d/g from 3.90, you need a CFW psp to install it but once done you create a 1000 pandoras with it. Excellent tool

PsP#1 : 2.01>3.71M33-4>3.80 M33-5
PsP#2 (Slim) : 3.80>3.90M33-2 All hail the UPMS Stck
If you need a UPMS Stick go here and then go here :-) *As recommended by January39

Do you have the 1.50 kernel addon for your 3.90m33 PSP classic ?? o_O
If no, then download from HERE and install the 1.50 kernel on your PSP :)
And then put the pandora battery creator software ("pandora_battery" and "pandora_battery%" folder) in the "X:\PSP\GAME150" folder of your PSP :)

Strange, i have installed it on loads on 3.90 & 3.80 without a problem. How did it not work?

If you get it sorted you soft mod the battery to service mode in exactly 3 button clicks. That's easy.
