So here's what happened.
I woke up like usual and turned on my 360. (I've had problems with it in the past and its forced me to adjust my POT calibration). I placed in my console a backup copy of Turok that I had been playing with the day before perfectly fine. As my 360's reading the disc I hear a loud grinding noise. When I finally get to the Turok menu I get the error "This disc is unreadable..."

I manage to boot up to the campaign and multiplayer a couple more times before it starts to take me to a black screen and gives me the disc is unreadable.

So I'm thinking this is what backups are for as i look at the new scratches on my Turok backup and I put in another disc. Once this disc doesn't book up (It was a Gears of War backup) I decide there has to be more to it.

I notice that the sound made when I put a disc in is like a normal boot up sound except with quite skips in between.
At this point I put a movie into my 360 and plays up fine so I decide I'm going to adjust the POT in my 360. I take it from 3.52k ohms and decide to raise it near it's original amount 4.2k ohms. I turn on my 360 and the disc isn't even detected!

It just says open tray instantly even if I put a disc in there.
I tried the DVD like I did before and that isn't even detected.
I opened it up again to check that everything was properly plugged in and it all seemed right to me. Do you think I damaged anything like the cables that hold the PBC chip that needs to be moved to ajust the pot? They all look fine. My only conclusion is adjusting the pot was just enough to completely kill my lens.

Any advice? Also I'm running on a Hitachi 57DJ modded with ixtreme rev 1.2 Thanks.

yo my 59 dj hitachi just died to. Your's is prolly done. Mine stopped playing games, but played cds and dvds fine. Then died all together. Just always says unplayable now.

My friend was having exactly the same problem with his sammy, unreadable disc errors, games crashing on him etc...

When you put a disc in you can really hear it struggling..
This is his second lens and he runs his xbox 24/7 ...

I reflashed his xbox to run at 2x (disc read speed) to see if this helps.

He was having a right game trying to boot the discs up but now when he eventually gets it going his games don't freeze on him anymore.

I have ordered him a new lens .
