d2ckey fitted but cant get past first screen

I just had my wii fitted with a d2ckey and when I switch it on, it says "press button a", I am pushing button a but nothing is happening, I have tried changing the batteries in the remote but still nothing, I cant get past this screen !

Any advice ?

You might have to sync the Wiimote to the Wii. Press the red sync button on the Wii and then on the Wiimote. Point the Wiimote at the screen when you do.
