Re-installing my DVD Burner

I have a simple yet embarrassing question and I am hoping I can ask you all and not get laughed off the Message board.

I have two drives on my computer, 1 CD player and 1 Philips 8631 DL DVD Burner. I ordered a new Samsung SH-D162D for reading purposes. Once my new Samsung arrived, I removed my old CD player/burner and installed my new Samsung Reader. My other Drive (my Philips 8631 DVD DL burner) seems to not be working correctly every since I installed and flashed the new Samsung DVD ROM.

My thoughts are to re-install the Philips 8631 DL DVD burner and its drivers. Here is my problem. I dont know if I have the drivers since my computer is an Dell Deminsion 8400 (OEM Type) with only one single backup CD. Can someone please explains the process of unintalling my DVD burner and then re-installing the dvd burner, step by step, and also where I can go to get the necessary Drivers and updates to hopefully get this thing working correctly.

I know this is simple, but In all these years, Ive never had to do this...

in device manager, right click on drive to be removed and select uninstall.
you can get all the drivers for your pc from dell.com.
