I have a Xbox 360 Elite and was wondering how to flash it.
1st-I was wondering how to open it.
- i have looked on how to open it tutorials but all they show are normal 360's. is it the same way for the elite?
2nd-What is the best method to "flash" my DiscDrive?
3rd - How do i back up my own 360 games?
- What do i need?

answer for first question, all 360s open the same way.
answer for second question, depends on which drive it is, benq or hitachi.
3rd question, do some researching, you'll figure out how to do it.

i have a hitachi drive.
i have lokked for different ways of flashing my drive and the one i found easiest was by using pSlax21 by connecting my 360 hitachi drive to my PC then loading the disc.
is there a way to back up my 360 games without having to buy anything? i allready have a DVD R+DL writer. all i need are discs.
does anybody know were i can find them cheap?

odds are you have the v79 hitachi. with this drive you have to chip it before you can even flash it. so have fun with that, i have no clue how to do it, but have heard its a pain in the a$$.

I agree with Dindi but if I were you and I have an Elite,I would learn how to solder and get some experience on how to and all that.DONT waste ur money on another console if you know exactly how to open it up and flash it.I have to open my Elite up too.I started a thread a while back and if you went on it some of your questions regarding what type of drive would be answered.Here are min

All 360s are opened the same way for the exception of the Elite in which the black color makes it slightly hard for you to locate the holes to poke out when unlocking the side vents.

2nd-What is the best method to "flash" my DiscDrive?
Each drive has its own method and you my freind might be dealing with a v79 drive.Its flashed and put in to MODE B the same way as v78 drives but you have to solder a passkey on the v79 drives mainboard so you can flash it.

You dont need to ask that-if you goto Xbox 360 General discussion if Im not mistaken....its like one of the top Threads posted on their.
Plus,Backing up games will cost you quite a bit more as for downloading and burning will cost you less.Dont even bother backing games up because you will have to buy another Dvd burner and flash that also with a Kreon firmware.So just dont even bother with that unless youre interested just google search it or look on After dawn as I said.

Date of MFG:2007-07-02
Drive:Hitachi (Examined Externally)
Team #:FDOU Firmware on Hitachi Drive:Dont know yet.Hope I get lucky and have a v78 when I open my 360 up.
