been trying to get my new chameleon working on xbox 1.5 all day, few hours ago figured out that i have to solder the ground and LPC or whatever, did that, still flashes red constantly
using solderless adaptor still, and have never seen any other colour light than red as of yet
do i need to solder the modchip onto the xbox board instead of using the solderless adaptor?
thanks

Does your xbox works when you remove the chip? Is so maybe that there was an error when you soldered the two wires to the LPC

Ok yesterday I installed a new Chameleon LE on a friends xbox and the led blinked Red... it is normal as it's the only color it can blink. So what I did is that I've put the chip in my 1.0 xbox and in my xbox it worked great so I flashed it with my xbox, reinstalled it in my friends xbox and everything was fine. I know this is stupid but the easiest way would be to find someone with a chipped 1.0 or 1.1

Ok maybe I have a better idea!!! Start up your xbox without a CD in... wait 60 secondes then press A ... when the cd-tray opens insert the bios disc and press A ... when the XBOX turns off it means that the chip is flashed (can take up to 2 minutes)

I have the version 1.0 xbox. I installed the chameleon using a shitty tutorial that told me to solder the 2 wires for power and eject buttons. Now this is fine if I wanted to enable extra features, but I didn't realize that until after I had done it.
My problem is that my xbox now only turns on when I press the eject button. The power button doesn't work. I figured I shouldn't have soldered those 2 wires so I desoldered them. I still have the same problem no matter if the chameleon is in or not. After about 1 minute of being on, the xbox automatically shuts off.
When the chip is in, the cromwell screen comes on just fine, but then the xbox shuts off after 1 min.
I assume I screwed something up when soldering. Was it the connection points on the motherboard? Can those be "fried" from soldering, because they are little bitty squares? Can they be replaced?
Any help is appreciated.

One other thing. Is it supposed to blink red? I've seen some posts saying their light is blue. Is it a diag light?

Some chameleon chips blinks red and some other blinks blue! As for your problem maybe you fried one of these cube called resistors... You could probably fixed that but I don't know what resistor you should use to replace the fried one! OR check out if you lifted a trace, if so I can be quite easily repaired

It must be a bad trace or something b/c i was playing around with a light tester touching the connections and I got it to power on and off correctly. Then I tried using the power button and it worked. I'm gonna go get a small soldering iron for better precision.

So whats the solution ladies and gents...
I just purchased a chameleon mod chip. I have not been able to get my pc the recognize the matrix programer so I cant flash bios with progrqamer. Although a red light has lit up while being pluged into the programer- and programer into pc. When I put my mod chip in the xbox nothing happens. No lights nothing. Just boots as if I installed nothing. No I have not soldered anything since I have the solder free mod chip with adapter. The chip is also suipposed to be pre flashed with cromwell bios. I know there are alot of the samequestions and issues floating around this message board but I am no further ahead reading these threads. I believe my wire from the mod is makeing a solid conection. All help is welcome.
Thanks
