Guys,

I routinely run my downloaded ISO's through Wii Patcher to guard against bricking.

As a newb to this scene may i ask you a question?

1> I ran DK jet race through wii patcher and it states it is PAL and no firmware update detected. All good as i have a PAL wii. However when i played it i was prompted to update the Wii.

Why is this? Why did the wii patcher say there was no firmware update but the game asked to update? Am i missing something?

Try wiiblocker.

Why wouldn't update if it is in your region that is what I want to know.

well nothing is 100% thats why i dont trust these patchers and brickblockers

update your wii through internet before trying a new game. that means u can let a game go through the motions of updating, but if ur wii is fully upto date, nothing bad can happen

it might say pal but it could be a ntsc that has been previously modified and giving false information

I have heard about that, but never had an issue, I found that to be rare. Thanks for explaining.
