Hi everybody, I need help to figure what is the problem with my psp.
I have psp slim with CFW 3.741 m33-4. A few days ago i was transferring some data on the pc from psp. when i disconnected usb and start psp all keys stop working in XMB. I can still access recovery menu and keys are working fine in the recovery menu.
What is the problem is it semi brick or idstorage prob.
I have already formated flash1 but no luck.
....EDIT....
I have tried this tut (GUIDE: How to Recover semi-brick PSP SLIM, i dont know how to link but it is in the stikies) by larrylje to create a magice memory stick and pandora battery. But when i insert pandora batt in the psp all i have is a blank screen with constant green light.
I don't know what to do now. Any replies to solve this prob are very welcome and appreciated. I NEED HELP MAN............... ah

The green light and the black screen is a sign of pandora battery, so , You've made a pandora battery, all you'll need now is a magic memory stick to downgrade your PSP/

Hi
Yup i followed the guide and the first steps are to create MMS.
Anyways i have found the problem. I disabled "VHS menu" in the recovery and all the keys are working now except:
Start (Not Working at all)
Select (Not Working at all)
Note (Not Working at all)
Home (Semi Working) Can't select YES or NO when i try to quit a game)
What program should i use to solve this problem?

I think it's either an IDstorage problem or well, may be you're cfw must've have been installed properly >_<
But I strongly think it's IDstorage problem >_>
Use "Keycleaner" to see whether your keys have a problem >_>
Keycleaner v1.4 : HERE
Also, different motherboards have different IDstorage keys :)
So, be careful while choosing your motherboard :)

either it's a bad flash of 3.71 m33-4, or your psp slim may be experiencing hardware problems.
if reflashing custom firmware doesn't work, then it may be the system itself.

Well, then I think that you're cfw must have not been installed properly >_<

Thanks Guys for all this help
I can't create MMS on my memory card easy installer can't format it (There were some errors i remember something like "FPU server not supported" ). Its a 4gb MC (is there any problem with cards bigger than 2gb?)
I hope its a CFW prob cause where i live, i cant claim sony for warranty even though its only 1.5 month old. :(
Here are the specs of my PSP:
PSP2000 Slim
MC: 4gb (Should i buy another 2gb card for MMS)
Batt: sony 1200 mah (made in china)
CFW: 3.71m33-4 (It was working fine in 3.71m33-2 "i had it pre-installed" then i downloaded update 3.71m33-4 from dark alex "Great man" site and it worked fine for few days)

it's recommended to use a 256mb-2gig. the files on the magic memory stick will not exceed 300mb, so go for a 256 or 512.

My 4 GB Sansa works fine in Pandora... Although it's in TimeMachine mode...
You didn't specify what brand your MS (memory stick) was... (Tell us...)
If any cards don't work, then use your laptop's card reader or separate card reader.

Well, you'll get many FAKE memory sticks of sony >_>
Well, when your memory stick is inserted in your PSP, go to "video" option on your PSP and then press "triangle" and then choose "Information" :)
If "MagicGate supported" is shown, then it's genuine :)
If "MagicGate unknown" is shown, then it's FAKE :)

Some sony memory sticks show "MagicGate unknown" because it may be a "Memory stick Duo" as it does not support MagicGate >_<
But he said it's a Sony "Memory Stick Pro Duo" and most sony Memory Stick Pro Duo have MagicGate supported :)

Ye sit is Sony memory Stick Pro Duo and magicgate is printed on its lower right corner. I bought it at a local store. Chances of card being fake could be quite high as most accessories in Pakistan are Chinese.
I will try to find a orignal one.
Is there any other way to downgrade a slim beside pandora nad mms?

"MagicGate" is printed below but it shows "MagicGate unknown" >_>
That answers your question :)
Also, again, I'm saying, buy a "SanDisk memory stick pro duo" :)
It's the BEST !! ^_^

I think the latest version of UPMS supports the formatting of fake memory sticks and I think it can make magic on fake MS but I'm not sure.
