He i have the xbox360 premium and got the 3 red lights.
I tried several time the towel trick and it worked a couple times.
Lately i read about the heatgun and hairdryer trick so i wanted to try it.
I used the hairdryer for about 10-15 mins to heat up the memmory and GPU. It got pretty hot and slowly let it cool off.

When i tried to boot it it takes about 1min 30sec to the 3 red lights.
I have heated 2 more times to try it again but no result.
Just black screen and 3 red lights.

Is it fixable or is it totaly dead now.

I'd get a MS warranty sticker and send it in for repair/replacement. There's really no sure fire fix for the 3RL, some will last for months at a time but they only prolong the inevitable.

I tried several times to convince the customersupport to let them repair it but they say they wont give any support to a banned 360.
And mine is Flashed DVD and banned.

So i gues its really dead then. And time to save money and buy a Elite.

do a search in the forums. There are several other fixes that you can do for the RROD. Now as stated above nothing will insure that it is permanenet. But then again i know people who have sent it back to MS and within a week sent it back again....and again...and again. So even they can not fix it right sometimes. so it is worth a try since all you have now is an expensive paperweight.

Oh, well if it's banned then by all means try everything you can. While you're in there perhaps pay the $10 for a better fan (may buy more time?) and maybe stop it from over heating. At the very least, if nothing works I suggest you pull a Michael Bolton on the fax...I mean Xbox.

I'm gonnatry to heat it up again to see if there is any difference.
I have two 80mm fans on the CPU and the GPU. The GPU is just cold and the CPU gets hand warm.

I have also put the coin trick on the memmory's.
Dont have any other ideas.

Guess try till it dies.
