Patapon is a fairly new game so i'd imagine you need at least 3.71 or higher
My PSP Life 1.00>1.50>2.70>2.71>1.50>3.52-M33>3.71M33-4>BRICKED>1.5>3.71M33-4>BRICKED>1.50>3.71M33-4>3.80M33-4>BRICKED>1.5>3.71M33-4 >3.80M33-5>3.90M33-2

hi all,
you need to change your no-umd boot method.
Do this by pressing select in XMB and change the UMD method to Sony NPxxx.

Yeah on the M33 Driver it gets stuck at loading screen.
Just change to Sony NP9660 Driver and it works fine.

First off, do you have CFW?
If so, enter recovery mode (Holding R while turning on the PSP), go to Configuration, scroll down to UMD Mode, and press X until its on Sony NP9660. You can now exit recovery mode and play Patapon without any trouble.

The one called 'UMD Mode' lol
It will be on either:
Normal -UMD required-
M33 driver -No UMD-
Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-
or OE isofs legacy -No UMD-
i imagine it will be on M33 driver, so click on it once and it will change to Sony NP9660

Well i'd try it with it on, but this firmware seems pretty old..
Check what it is, go to PSP XMB (standard PSP menu after exiting recovery mode) go across to settings, then System Settings, and near the bottom it says System Information. Could you check and see what it says your System Software is
After this, i can link to a guide to upgrading
