ok i got a dcr trv19, FOR SOME reason when i go 2 record, the lcd screen shows up black and also the viewfinder thing?

yea it powers up, but when i go 2 record the screen is black .

I did a search on the video camera, and it looks like there is a history of failures on that model. CNet and Amazon are two places that you can check the owner reviews.
