I was playing on my ps3 throughout the morning and had a break. When i returned to my ps3, it wouldn't sign in. It came up with this error code, 80710092. Can someone help me please? I am also able to surf the web through the ps3 and my computer but unable to sign to the playstation network

The error is that your connection is timing out, run speedtest.net on the ps3's web browser and post the results (download upload and ping).

Shoot thats right, Java was updated and the ps3 hasn't released a new firmware to upgrade it yet. Try one of these:

www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp
www.internetfrog.com/mypc/speedtest/

Hopefully one of them is still using the older Java.

What is the signal strength? And try running a corded connection temporarily to see if you get the upload speed back.
