does the wii have a sata port because if it does couldnt u flash it with a different firmware like u can do with drive doctor or xbox 360?

The wii DVD drive interface is propriatory, and the drive itself is as well. Its possable that we'll get some custom firmware builds eventually, but it certenly wouldnt be drive doctor that does it.

I recently saw a drive REPLACMENT for the gamecube that replaced the whole drive with a small board with an SD slot on it that basically functioned as an ISO loader. Given how the wii's drive is set up I'd expect to see something similar to that before we saw custom drive firmwares.
