i already had my xbox 360 hooked up directly to a modem (MOTOROLA SURFBOARD CABLE MODEM (MODEL SBV5121XM) but i wasnt able to use my computer in my other room. i dont have a wireless router. is there a way that i can hook up my old (WESTELL 6100 MODEM) to my current surfboard modem to i can use the computer in one room and the 360 in the next? any help will b greatful. thanks!

^^^BS.. you need either a hub, router, or to fit another network card into your pc and share that connection.

A modem will only allow one connection on the inside line at a time, so a splitter or simple switch isn't going to cut it. Same with your old modem.. where do you propose connecting that? to the cable companies wire?? still no go for the same reason.

THANKS ALOT.! BUT 1 MORE QUESTION. IM NOT REALLY GOOD WITH ALL THIS WIRE HOOKING UP AND STUFF..SO LIKE WHAT KIND OF HUB WOLD I NEED AND HOW TO I HOOK IT UP?
