Hi all, I'm having some problems trying to flash my 360 samsung m25 drive. I have purchased a via VT6421A sata card and have it installed. I've tried using xtremebootmaker 5.3 and iprep 101.6 and cant seem to get it to read the drive. Whenever I type in idump(or xread) I usually get two choices:
1. IDE Sec Master
2. IDE Sec slave
I sometimes get a 3rd choice which says xtreme primary master and i assume this is the one I need. The problem is it almost seems to come up randomly now matter what I do. I've downloaded a couple of tutororials and followed them to a T but I cant get the 3rd choice to come up every time. I've tried with other hard drives unplugged, both drives plugged in, switching the pci slot for the sata card, waiting to plug in the sata cable to the xbox drive at different times, changing when I turn on the xbox and I still only seem to get the xtreme pri master choice at random times. When it does come up and I do select it I do like the tutorials say:
1. When xtreme pri master comes up I turn off the xbox and select it.
2. wait 10 seconds and turn the xbox back on
Nothing happens after that. I always get something that shows a port number and something else after I select the drive but nothing else happens. I'd appreciate it if someone can help me out. I've done alot of reading the last few days and I still cant seem to get it to work. Thanks!
BTW, I also have SH-D162C on the way to burn games but its gonna be pretty damn useless if I cant get this xbox flashed!

Are you using the sata port closest to the front of the PC?
Have you tried a different sata cable? (I've had a sketchy sata cable that worked sometimes and other times not.)
Have you tried a different PCI slot? (I had to do this to get mine to work.)
Have you tried a different PC?
Have you tried updating to the latest drivers?
Also xtreme prim is the channel you will want to be selecting.

you dont do 10 second trick on a ms25.
xtreme primary master is what you need.
what tutorial are you using?
if the tute is telling you to do ten second on your ms25 you need a dif tute.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

Couple more questions:
1)How do I flash the orginal firmware back to the 360.
2)If I want to change the firmware lets say from ixtreme 1.4 over to xtreme 52 do I have to load the original firmware back on before doing that?

So, you dont even worry about the read command? You just do the write command?
