Hey everybody, I am pretty new to the Afterdawn community, so hello everybody! I have a quick question, and then straight onto the main one... "How do I change the default Avatar to something I want?"
Now, I have an old laptop, which me and a friend "gently" smashed apart with a sledge hammer because the heatsink was faulty and quite literally fried the CPU! The only thing left was this...
Now, in about 3 weeks time, I have a ski'ing trip coming up with this same friend. Were driving all the way from UK to Italy, all in all about a 12 hour journey. You ask, what has this got to do with a PS3? Well, I want to take one. Trouble is, the only thing I have to play it on is a shitty 3" monitor, and my parents won't buy me anything bigger. Is there any possible way I could use this and hook it up to my PS3? I have the remenents of the old laptop if that helps, most things are still intact...
If not, could I hook this up to a MacBook, or a Normal Laptop, both of which I have, without using a TV tuner, the lag would be unbearable! This monitor would be perfect, also if there is a way, what are the dis-advantages? I.E. Would this get extremely hot... I am very doubtful about this working anyway, so any news is good news!
Quote:A lot of people seen to think that they can easily interface a laptop monitor to their PC. While it is possible, most people don't have a clue what's involved. While some LCD panels have built-in controller, most, including ALL laptop displays DO NOT. There are no smarts on the LCD panel at all, just row and column drivers.
Besides that it is a bad idea to have the PS3 going while the car is in motion. All the bumps and tussles could screw up your disk or hard drive, not to mention other things.
Well, thanks anyway guys... I went about that LCDPanel thing and have already built the screen up with a VGA output... It was simple, I should have known! My dad works with computer hardware and LCD's, Electronics for a living, he already had a spare RawLCD Driver on the back of his van - App. there quite a common thing to go wrong in laptops these days :S
Point is, I've hooked it up, and with a bit of soldering, and google pin finding operation's, I've hooked up a VGA port - However, I'm not going to take it for the reason stated above
