I'm desperate here.
My Wiikey was working fine for the last few days. I've been playing a burned copy of Brawl. (Which, for the record, was legally purchased and simply copied to another DVD.)
Anyway, everything was going ok until I tried bringing my Wii home. I brought it home, and went to play Brawl. Brawl showed up in the Wii channels, but when I went to run it, I got an error that made me eject the disc and reboot.
Now, nothing burned will work at all. No copies of Brawl. Not even the Wiikey setup disc or firmware disc. I've tried 3 different types of DVDs (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW), all three different brands, and nothing will work at all.
What could have possibly happened with my Wiikey? It was professionally soldered, and I honestly doubt anything was knocked loose, especially since Brawl showed up and didn't work, then didn't show up at all, without the Wii being moved in the least.
The Wiikey was soldered using the solder-only technique and worked great. The only thing I remember is that I didn't end up putting a piece of electrical tape over it, if that makes any difference or not.
Anyway, please help me out. I'm really, really desperate here. :(

Here's an update if this helps anything:
I remember the only thing I changed was the screen settings. I went from Widescreen to Normal. Also, my firmware says it's 3.1U.

YES you will need to cover it with Electrical Tape. You might have caused a short.

How could that have caused a short exactly? It's not like the Wiikey was touching anything else...
Hmmm... Anything I can do to fix that at all?

Why don't you try what I said and put electrical tape over it. The solder touches the metal plate thus causes a short.

I tried putting tape over it and it didn't work.
Is there a possibility that I damaged the Wiikey because there was no tape on it?

Try to run Config and/or Update discs in GCOS mode.
Check my thread on Wiikey resources for further info.

No burned disc is recognized at all, not even the GCOS boot disc.
