yea im just urious if their will be a firmware hack anytime soon for wii so we dont have to worry about bricking wiis or patching them. sort of a psp thing with CFW

This kind of thing will be inevitable, but probably not for quite a while. However, I think that some progress has been made using Twilight Princess...

Just a thought but.... is it wise to stay current with wii firmware updates, wont it be harder to softmod your wii when the softmod is released with the latest firmware (i know softmods are still out of mind and out of site) just arguing pros and cons

Its probably your safest bet if you really want the softmod, and I don't think that Nintendo will be somehow able to inadvertently block the softmod before its released, so I would have thought updates would probably be OK so long as you didn't update after the softmod release.

I thought about the custom firmware and how it was with the PSP too. If that ever comes out, it would easily work with WiiBrickBlocker, because you just name the custome firmware patch.iso and it'll put the firmware right onto the disc.
