I have a WiiKey installed in my Wii and was wondering if patching games is still needed when region override is enabled. Even if not necessary, does it hurt to patch games, just in case?

It doesn't hurt to patch a game, and I don't think it can cause it to not work, but its better to have a busted DVD than a bricked Wii.

Also remember import games will never be 100%, and all you really need to consider is just don't update via import.
