Please forgive my ignorance as I'm a fresh out the packet newbie.

But I keep hearing about guides that will show you how to do the above? Do what? Am I missing something here?

Most of the video files on my HD are in AVI format. However, in most cases, using WinDVD Creator, I am able to burn these files directly on to a DVD R disc without having to convert anything.

9 times out of 10 I make excellent copies. So, again am I missing something here or what?

Someone enlighten me, PLEASE!

Hi Shaun,
I did a google search on your WinDVD Creator:
http://www.bjorn3d.com/_preview.php?articleID=377
It seems to do the conversion for you.
It has a lot of nice features but does not offer much control over the process. At least thats what the guy testing it said.
Had a little bit on the audio also, FYI

Thanks for the link, Frank.

I haven't looked at it yet, but I certainly will.

As WinDVD Creator converts it for you, that would suggest why it takes around about 3 hrs from start to finish to put the file on to a disc.

I have wondered on occasions why it took so long, now I know.

Thanks.

Shaun.

Hi Frank,

By the way, is there a quicker method to convert & burn on to disc? Perhaps using Nero or something along those lines.

I have Nero 5.5, but when I've tried it before, I always seem to get bad results, which is why I've stuck with WinDVD Creator.

Shaun.

Hi Shaun,
That tester said he compared it to Nero 6, so I assume Nero has a similar feature. I would check it out. 3 hours is too long for me!
