Xbox 360 Elite vs. PS3

I am about to utilize my product replacement plan on my 360 pro (no HDMI port), I will get $399.99 in store credit. I have a new 50" 1080p plasma, I have been with xbox forever, this is my 3rd xbox replacment due to red rings of death (I've had a cooler fan thing on since the first red ring incident), I know about all the exclusives to both systems, and the lack of good titles yet for the PS3, but I can not shell the dough for a seperate blue ray player and my fiance won't agree to 3 systems (we got a Wii too), How do yall like your 360 Elite? I need help deciding.

Let me be the first to say this is a very very dumb place to ask people a question like that. Hmm let me ask a xbox360 form if I should get a 360 or a PS3. Anyways the elite is a very nice system does well with games like any other 360. Normaly has a Benq drive so shouldnt be to hard to modd if you ever choose to. The PS3 is a Home entertainment center not a gameing console. You gota choose do I want a system with all the extra little features like blue ray and easy web surfing or do I want a Gaming Monster with a great game list and amazing online gaming function. Up to you mate but im sure alot of my fellow mates here on this form would argree that the xbox360 is the better of the too

LOL dude, it will be a firestorm when we get this debate going. He should do his own research. Problem with this place, too many lazy people want to be spoon fed everything and not do any of their own work.

It's funny when you guys bash someone who didn't even bother reading the first page. However to insult someone asking for an OPINION, that's fairly petty.
Personally I'd get a 360 because the game library is larger and it'll be another year or so before the PS3 has enough AAA titles to warrant the money. However I don't have an HD TV, so I have no use for a Blue Ray Player. If you are a big movie buff then the PS3 may be a good bet as it's one of the few BR players that are 2.0 capable.
In the end it's really a matter of what are you going to use the system for more, movies or games?

I own both the Elite 360 and the PS3. Personally, I only use the PS3 for games that are not multi-platform.
I own Resistance, NBA08 and Motoorstorm on the PS3. I own about 125 Xbox 360 games.
But the blu-ray is awesome. Goes nice with my 1080p 55 inch Sony.
My opinion is this.. If you have an HDTV, then go ahead and get a PS3 if you have the money. If you want to play games more than watch movies then get a premium 360. If you download alot of TV shows and Movies, then get the Elite 360. Otherwise, premium is the way to go.

my brother got a ps3 for christmas and let me tell you if you want a bluray player youve found it. there really arent any good games out for it right now if you dont mind waiting a little bit and are not really a fan of online service i would say go for the ps3 but if you want online service and good games now i would say go with the 360.

i've always heard that the PS3 Blu Ray player isn't that great and you're better off getting a 360 and a Blu Ray player. I think it's still too early to buy one, it will be a lot cheaper before long.
