hi ,

i had a real bad audio problem on a concert dvd and i have been working for months to fix and i finally found a way to do this that produced exellent results . here is the formula -

first rip the dvd to your hard drive with dvd decrypter or the like

2- use pgcdemux to seperate the video from the audio

3- then you take the audio , which should be a ac3 file and convert it to a wave file using - belight

4- then you take the wave file and run it thru nero 6.6.0.18 wave editor and apply the filetrs needed to fix the audio and then when you are done save it with the fixed audio which it will prompt you to do when you exit out of it .

5-then take the audio file and run it back thru - belight - and convert back to ac3 file

6- the use the program muxman to put it all back together , works like a charm . result was excellent .

if anyone has any questions , just let me know and i will be glad to help .

yes ,

first when you open wave editor in nero and click new and open the wav file from it's location . the problem i had with the audio is that it had a bad static or crackle and hiss , so i applied these filters -

go to enhancement tab - i used declicker remove clicks and pops ,
noise reduction , and noise anyalsis . the thing you have to do is apply a filter that applies to your problem and you can preview it before you apply it to see if it helps the problem .

then i applied stero processer to change it from mono to a 2 speaker sound . you just have to kinda play with the filters and see what help . when you are finished and you like the sound just go to x out of it it will prompt you to save it or not and just save it and it will apply the changes and then you audio will be ready to convert back to ac3 . the output was to my satisfaction . you will have to see what benifits your problem . i hope this helps , also use nero 6.6.0.18 it is the best , you may be able to do this on newer verions buy have not tried . would like to know if nero 8 can do this on vista . thanks

Thank you for the feedback dvdman101.
I haven't really used Nero's Wave Editor and it's good to know what it can do.

Seems you could have just used NeroVision Express at this point to produce your final DVD. It would automatically convert the WAV to ac3, DD2.0 or 5.1 (if you have the plug-in).
