If you really don't want to update the Wii firmware, you could get a Datel Wii Freeloader, as it blocks the Wii firmware update. A user on another forum reported that he tried it with Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and after running the game through the Freeloader, his firmware was still at 2.2E.

My wii is at 3.1u, and I have a wiikey installed but i have no idea at all what version the wiikey is.

It seems from numerous threads that it is safe to install the 3.2u via internet, but do I relaly need to upgrade the wiikey firmware to 1.9g?

I have had my wiikey since around MArch of 07, and I have never upgraded it before.

so just say with 1.9g and DO NOT downgrade to 1.9b?
