I have Syphon Filter Combat Ops, that you can get at the Playstation Store but I got it from a psp website. I got it and the instructions said to put it in the game folder not the iso folder. So I put there and when I play it it loads then says:
Game could not be started
80010087

I tried all iso modes and everything! Then when I put it in the iso folder it doesnt come up!
My psp is 3.90 M33-2

Each PSX game goes into a folder in the GAME folder.

Ex. PSP/GAME/FFVII Disc1/Eboot.pbp

The name of the folder is actually kinda important, so if you were to have acquired this game from an outside source, it should have been in a named folder.

As for the PS Store, I would imagine so, but since you can rip your own PSX games there is very little that I need to go out and get second hand.

sorry didnt read what you said i didnt know you could buy them of the sony store

i dont think they will work on a cfw psp
try a demo see if that works but i dont think it will but iv never tried
but i dont think sony will let you play there games on a cfw psp what you could try is opening up the eboot with this (dont know if it'll work) and the extract the files in there which should have two folders in like a umd when opened on the computer copy the folder to your pc and then put them into an iso see if that works

humm what are the files in there.

it might be compiled different to a umd.

have you tried running any other homebrew app because what 07anto07 was saying could have happened because iv never see the code message before. if it comes up with the message again when running homebrew apps you might find that you will have to change your cfw to fix it thats if you can run the updates

doesnt look like you might not be able to put it into a iso but you can always give it a try.

is the data a folder or a file?

do you have a program like magic iso so you can make the files into a iso. if not winrar can do it as well

1)make a new rar file
2)copy all the files into it
3)in windows explorer go to tools
4)then folder options
5)go to view
6)under show hidden folders there should be a a tick box that say "hide all known file extensions" untick it if it isnt already
7)go to your rar file it should now have the file name with .rar on the end e.g. newrar1.rar
8)rename it totaly deleting the .rar part and put in the name you want with .iso on the end instead
9)then put it in iso folder and hope it works 0_<

but i very highly doubt that it will work because it has no umd_data but i dont know whether that does anything when its in iso format?

also have you tried running any other homwbrews to see if they work attall

I have UMDGen, would that work? Yes I have tried other homebrew and they work. Can I get the umd data from another game?

iv never used it but from what i was just looking at it looks like it only opens iso so you can manipulate then to save space. you can get winrar from here and its all free. as for the umd_data ill have to look.

this is what i found when i opened it up in notepad

Quote:
ULUS-10184|9F8CA64C66CEEC50|0001|G |
it shows formation about the game i had a look around and found this but i wont help because you dont have the game as a umd.
i suggest trying without the umd_data.bin but i doubt it will work because i think it work in the same sort of way as a biso and allows it to boot.
if it dosent work then you will have to find someone with the game and get a copy of the umd_data.bin

also i fogot to mention that you need to put all the files that you extracted from the eboot into a folder called "PSP_GAME" and then put that into the rar file and rename it with .iso on the end

hope it works for you if not then ill try and find other ways of getting it to run 0_<

what do you mean? And UMDGen had a UMD_DATA button that would make a UMD_DATA somehow. I compressed it but I dont have my usb cable.

if you have syphon filter dark mirror you can ask Max_slayer, he originally got the demo from LS to work on the CO servers for like a day until sony closed the servers because they saw him on.

I was having a bit of a scout around to find out about act.dat when a came across this

Note: If you are gonna use the memory stick to restore a PSP other than the one that created it,
check if the file /registry/act.dat exists in the ms. If it exists, remove it, otherwise the restored PSP may not be able
to buy psn games until the user doesn't delete from flash2 the act.dat of the other PSP. (act.dat files are unique for each PSP).

Note that act.dat will be restored to the moment of the MS creation.
If you have bought other PSN game later, the act.dat file may have changed and if you restore the old one, you may loose the latest bought game.
Backup flash2:/act.dat each time after you buy something from the PSN!
it seems that you can use someone else's act.dat file
it say in there at the bottom to update your act.dat file so that could be the problem when running the eboot game?..... you could could try and find a new version of it that will run the game you have but i have no clue on where you get it from
