I upgraded from 3.71 to 3.90 software and lost all games. When tried to re-transfer cso game the message "cannot create or replace cso 687: the parameter is incorrect" pop up. what does this mean?

Secondly, when tried to transfer downloaded game the message "cannot copy cso493: data error (cyclic redundancy check)". Is it the memory stick problem?

Please advise, anyone.

I'm not sure about the "cannot create or replace cso 687" error. however, the "cannot copy cso493: data error (cyclic redundancy check)" has to do with your files. In simple terms, a CRC is bit of mathematics used to ensure that your data is OK when being transfered. It's a checking procedure that quickly identifies when data has been damaged. If you get this message, it means that the file being read by your PC or software is corrupted. However, it does not mean all the data is lost forever. When data is transfered, it is usually in small blocks and each block is given a CRC value. If something goes wrong with the data between the time it leaves the source and arrives at its destination, the CRC sent at the source will no longer match the one that is calculated when the data arrives - this is when the cyclic redundancy check error will appear.

Thanks a lot.

For the cannot copy or replace part, the existing file still in the memory card but the console just can't read it hence no games inside. when tried to re-transfer file, it failed.

just don't understand what had happened.

This im my experiance is extremly rare. most CRC erros happen when tranfering data from CD/DVDs . i've never hads this type of error on a memory stick. I would try saving whatever is on the memory sticka dn formatting it. than try and move everything back . also replace the CSO games with new ones cause its sounds like they are corrupt
