I was wondering if someone could PM me and help me with a little problem I've been having backing up Topspin. You may not necessarily had to have backed up Topspin to help me, although it might help.

I don't know what problem you have but here is mine. I try to backup Microsoft Top Spin to my hard drive and that seems to be successful. All the files are copied to a folder in the xbox hard drive (120GB). But whenever I try to start the game from the drive, it fails and falls back to the Evox menu. The same problem also happens to the Microsoft Counter Strike. Other games such as FIFA 2003 or Gotham Racing are fine starting from the hard drive.

any idea what the problem might be?

We can't repeat enough that the games must be patched... try ftping to the PC and patching with Craxtion or make sure you have the latest version of Dvd2Xbox to transfer the game to your HDD

Everything that is spewed out of microsofts greedy orifice these daze are digitally signed, you can sign your own files using a program d/led through irc #xbins channel, or just update your bios, the game is looking to validate it, but when the sig is nay verified it'll drop you back out.
