DVD starts back from the beginning - Xbox HD Player

Just got an Xbox HD DVD Player. Got a question, while your in the middle of watching a movie, how do you start up where you left off after pressing the "stop" button? For example, I'm watching American Gangster, I stopped the movie to go to the bathroom, when I hit the Play button, it started back at the Menu screen (it does thix all the time on every movie). Is this normal?? My Sony SD-DVD player would play back from exactly it left off. Any way to get around this?? Thanks.

xbox hdDVD sucks, it lacks options and thats why it is so cheap. Pause it don't stop it and you won't have a problem. HDDVD is done, blueray is in stile now. I don't know what will microsoft do now

So it's not an HD DVD issue, it's an Xbox HD player issue I take it. Do other HD DVD players resume play from where you left off??

BTW...I know HD DVD is dead, but for a $50 player and HD DVD"s that are going to be dropping in price, I thought it was a good bargain. PS3 is on my "to buy list" in the near future.
